#whybeardproject is an Art Project initiated by Avital Baron Izackov an Artist, Designer and Art project entrepreneur and Maya Havkin a Photographer and photography teacher.

We as women were hypnotized by the men here in Israel and all over the world, that seemingly out of nowhere, decided they absolutely had to grow a beard!  We started observing and inquiring this new trend that was seen everywhere. We begin by interviewing and photographing men of all ages and asked them what were they feeling about their bearded look. Do they feel it ages them? Does it make them “more of a man”? maybe, sexier?
This is a project about their stories but also about a world of imagination, theirs and ours.
